GLAS ITALIA | Milano Design Week 2026

Glas Italia announces the upcoming opening of its first Flagship Store in Milan and presents the 2026 collection at Salone del Mobile.Milano

During the Milan Design Week 2026, Glas Italia will light up the windows of its first Flagship Store in the city, offering a first glimpse whilst announcing its opening through an installation that discloses its spirit and atmosphere. Shaping this initial narrative is an installation designed by Piero Lissoni, conceived to activate the shop windows as a visual and narrative threshold into the future space. Titled Behind the Windows, the installation transforms the windows into a viewing device: an invitation to observe, imagine, and interact. Not just a simple preview, but a gesture of gradual opening, capable of conveying the new flagship's identity through language associated with Glas Italia: that of transparency, light, and matter.

During the Salone del Mobile.Milano, Glas Italia presents its 2026 collection within its own stand. A series of new projects  confirming the brand’s devotion to explore glass as a living material, in continuous dialogue with space, function, and perception. The collection features designs by Piero Lissoni, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, and Hlynur Atlason (marking his first collaboration with the brand) and also introduces, for the first time, a collection of lamps. Alongside these new launches, additional proposals expand the Glas Italia universe, further strengthening its explorations between innovation, experimentation, and material sensitivity.

ELLE DECOR SENSORY LANDSCAPE
a project by Elle Decor Italia
Palazzo Bovara - Corso Venezia, 51
20/26 April 2026

Elle Decor and Glas Italia have renewed their partnership for the traditional event at Palazzo Bovara. Sensory Landscape reinterprets the home as a place where people and space connect; a world capable of satisfying the senses and restoring a sense of well-being.

Piero Lissoni’s project features some of Glas Italia’s most iconic pieces: the voluminous compositions of the Verglas tables, the proportions and precision of Shiro Kuramata’s Glass Shelves#1 bookcases, and the optically illusional three-dimensional geometries of Nanda Vigo’s Cosmos mirrors.

INSIEME
dodici eccellenze sei materiali un colore
a project by Sabato De Sarno produced and presented by Vanity Fair
Piscina Cozzi - Viale Tunisia, 35
21/26 April 2026

A group exhibition that brings into focus what often remains unseen: human labour, technical expertise, time and experience. Twelve Italian companies have been invited to reveal the essence of their production through works that bring to light what lies behind the finished object: the hands, the choices, the mistakes, and the responsibility behind each action.

Glas Italia has revisited its archives and created a unique version of Nanda Vigo’s Andromeda mirror, chosen as a symbol of its identity and design vision. A living tradition that is renewed in a dialogue with the present, capable of preserving memory whilst simultaneously reinterpreting it.

L'APPARTAMENTO BY ARTEMEST
Palazzo Donizetti - Via Gaetano Donizetti, 48
21/26 April 2026

Artemest returns to Palazzo Donizetti for the fourth edition of L’Appartamento by Artemest. Five international architecture studios interpret this year’s theme – “Italian Grandeur” – in five rooms inspired by cities of art: Venice, Naples, Rome, Palermo and Florence.

In the “Neapolitan” space, grandeur takes shape presenting Liquefy coffee tables designed by Patricia Urquiola.  Their patterns evoke the veining of natural materials; they are dynamic and fluid, transforming as the viewing angle changes.
